Week 5 Quiz: Practice for Exam 1 (ungraded)

Taking the first exam in any class, and especially a class that is not in your major, can cause lots of stress because you do not know what to expect. In this ungraded practice exam are questions that are similar to what may be on the first exam. Material will come from the entire semester to date.

Although this is an online exam and you may feel that you can look up answers during the exam, please don't! Studying for exams is a crucial part of learning, because it helps you consolidate what you know. In addition, exams are timed, so there is not enough time to look up the answers to every question.

You can have (and should make!) a single sheet "cheat sheet" with information you want to have at your finger tips during the exam. While facts are important - knowing what they mean and how to use them is more important! (Note, I plan to have an extra credit question on the exam where you upload a picture of your "cheat sheet" - so there is a little more incentive to study and create the sheet before the exam!)

You can take this practice exam as many times as you wish (after all, "practice makes perfect" is not a cliche for nothing!). The grades you get on this practice exam will NOT count toward your course grade, so there is no penalty for getting questions wrong or for retaking this practice exam.
