If you want all of the VoiceThreads for your course to show in one place for students, add the VoiceThread External Tool in Modules.

Setting up your VoiceThread Course View in Canvas requires two steps:

Add the VoiceThread external tool in Canvas Modules; and
Add a VoiceThread!

Adding the VoiceThread External Tool in Canvas Modules

Navigate to your course in Canvas, select Modules from course navigation bar.
In any module, click the plus button in the upper right corner of the module.
Select external tool.
Search and select VoiceThread
Once VoiceThread Loads, select "Course View"
Type an Activity Name
Save and Continue.

Add a VoiceThread

Click the VoiceThread Course View that you just created.
The VoiceThread tool will launch and you can select Add Your Own in the upper right corner.
You have two options: Create a New VoiceThread or Select from my VoiceThreads. Either choice will add the VoiceThread to this Course View.

Note: If you want VoiceThread integrated with your gradebook, you must use the Assignment Builder.

We encourage the use of VoiceThread Universal, an HTML version of VoiceThread that is more accessible. You can set Universal as your default. The only exception is that it's not currently possible to submit a graded assignment while using the Universal interface. The VT group is working on that piece now.

Another option for accessibility is to switch your VoiceThread player from Flash to HTML5.

To switch your VoiceThread Player to HTML5:

Go to your VT Home Page.
Click on your email address in the top-right corner of the page.
Select “Display Preferences”.
Select “HTML5” from the drop menu under Player Version.
Refresh the page.
